Betting & Casino Glossary
New to online gambling? Here are the key terms every Filipino player should know.
- Asian Handicap
- A popular betting format across Southeast Asia where one team is given a goal advantage or disadvantage to eliminate the draw outcome. Widely used in Philippine football and basketball betting.
- Over-Under (Totals)
- A bet on whether the combined score of both teams will be higher (over) or lower (under) than a set number. Common in PBA and NBA betting on phl9.
- Odds Formats
- Odds can be shown as Decimal (e.g., 2.50), Fractional (e.g., 3/2), or American (+150 / -200). phl9 defaults to Decimal format, which is easiest for most Filipino bettors.
- RTP (Return to Player)
- The long-term percentage of wagered money a slot or game pays back to players. An RTP of 96.5% means for every ₱100 bet, ₱96.50 is returned on average over time.
- House Edge
- The mathematical advantage a casino holds over players. A lower house edge (like in baccarat at ~1.06%) means your money lasts longer compared to games with a higher edge.
- Wagering Requirement
- Also called "rollover," this is how many times you must bet your bonus before you can withdraw it. A 10x wagering requirement on a ₱500 bonus means you must wager ₱5,000 total before cashing out.
- Live Dealer Casino
- Games like baccarat, roulette, and blackjack streamed in real time with a live human dealer. You can chat and play just like being in a real casino in Makati or Resorts World Manila.
- Slot Volatility
- Describes how often and how much a slot pays. Low volatility = frequent small wins. High volatility = rare but larger wins. JILI's Fortune Gems is medium volatility — ideal for balanced play sessions.
- Progressive Jackpot
- A jackpot that grows every time someone plays and doesn't win. Multiple games pool their jackpots, meaning prizes can reach millions of pesos. Golden Empire on phl9 features this mechanic.
- Cashback
- A percentage of your losses returned as bonus credits or cash. phl9's weekly cashback means that even on a losing week, you get a portion back — making it easier to keep playing responsibly.

What Filipino Players Are Saying
Real feedback from real players across the Philippines.
"Grabe, Fortune Gems talaga ang paborito ko. Nag-deposit ako via GCash, within 5 seconds nasa account ko na. Yung withdrawal naman, halos 2 hours lang. First time ko mag-online casino na walang problema sa payout. Thumbs up, phl9!"
"Ang galing ng customer support dito. May Tagalog-speaking agents talaga sila, hindi lang yung automated chatbot. I had an issue with my bonus and they sorted it out in under 10 minutes via live chat. Very professional at friendly pa. Highly recommend phl9 to my friends in Cebu!"
"I play bingo and keno mostly, and phl9 has the best selection I've found in Davao. The VIP Gold tier is worth it — the cashback alone has saved me a lot during slow weeks. Site is smooth on my phone, no lag. Just wish they had more local sabong options, pero overall sobrang satisfied ako."
"Boxing King is my go-to every Friday night. Pag may laban na sa Pinoy boxing, dobleng saya ng kita. The RTP on these JILI games is legit — I checked it myself. phl9 is the real deal."
"Nagsimula ako sa Silver tier, ngayon Gold na ko. Yung reload bonus every month is talagang helpful. PayMaya works perfectly dito — unlike other sites na nag-iissue ng maraming problema. Solid ang phl9 platform."
"Live dealer baccarat dito is so smooth. The dealers are clear on video, no buffering issues even on my LTE connection in Iloilo. Feels like I'm actually at Okada or Solaire, minus the commute from Visayas! Will keep playing here."
